‘A Quiet Place’ Writers Say They Have Plenty of Ideas for a Potential Franchise

As we learned yesterday, there was one point in time, very early in the development process, that A Quiet Place was considered for inclusion in the Cloverfield Universe, but it was ultimately decided to make the film entirely its own thing once Bryan Woods and Scott Beck turned in the script. And it’s for the best, we say, as A Quiet Place doesn’t belong in an already established franchise. Rather, it deserves a franchise of its own.

Woods and Beck, along with co-writer/director John Krasinski, developed a richly established world with A Quiet Place, one that the two writers would love to expand upon. Speaking with Fandango, Woods and Beck noted that they already have ideas.

It’s such a fun world,” Woods told the site. “There are so many things you could do.”

Beck added, “There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out on Word documents on our computer. So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell. It’s just really, at the end of the day, who are the characters in this and what does this situation mean to that dynamic?

The world of A Quiet Place does indeed have endless potential for expansion, and with the film dominating at the box office, we expect that a sequel isn’t too far behind.

At this time, however, nothing has been announced.
