Back in 2016, 20th Century Fox played host to the first ever Alien Day, a global celebration of the Alien franchise that took place on the fitting date of April 26 – a clever reference to the planet known as LV-426. The event officially became an annual tradition last year, and Alien Day is once again taking over on April 26 of this year!
Variety reports that one of the many fun events taking place on Alien Day will be the launch of the brand new, free roaming VR experience Alien: Descent. For now, the up-to-4-players experience will be opening exclusively at The Outlets at Orange in Orange County, California on April 26.

“It’s a free-roaming experience, meaning that players get outfitted with special wireless VR headsets that do away with the need for any additional cables. This allows players to freely walk around on a stage that incorporates physical cues for better immersion.
Players get to join an elite squad of Colonial Marines tasked with investigating a distress signal sent from a mining outpost. Of course, there are also plenty of aliens to be fought, which is why every player gets their own VR weapon. Movements of players are tracked with special motion sensors attached to players’ arms and legs.”
If you live in or near Orange County, you can book your tickets now for $22 per participant. The VR experience is set to arrive in additional locations at later dates.
