Sony Pictures has tapped Ari Sandel to direct Goosebumps: Slappy Halloween, a sequel to the 2015 hit that unleashed nearly all of R.L. Stine’s creations onto the big screen. This week we’ve learned that Peyton Wich, who played the bully Troy in “Stranger Things” and also starred in “Mr. Mercedes,” has joined the cast.
The cast also includes Wendi McLendon-Covey (“The Goldbergs”), Ken Jeong (Hangover), Chris Parnell (Anchorman), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Ben O’Brien (Manchester by the Sea), Caleel Harris (“Castle Rock”), and Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT).
Plot details are currently unknown, but it’s been rumored to follow three who friends must stop Slappy the dummy from starting the Halloween apocalypse.
As of this writing, the sequel is still set to release on Oct. 12, 2018.
