Director Andy Muschietti is set to begin filming IT: Chapter 2 this coming July in Toronto, with Gary Dauberman currently working on the script. Jessica Chastain has been confirmed as our adult Beverly Marsh, with Bill Hader in talks to play adult Richie Tozier and James McAvoy likely playing adult Bill Denbrough.
As if last year’s ’80s-set IT wasn’t scary enough, Muschietti just promised the crowd at CinemaCon (in a taped interview), that Chapter 2 will up the terror and darkness!
“Bring your adult diapers,” he cautions.

Next year’s movie takes place 27 years after the first installment, with flashbacks to the ’80s. As adults, the Losers’ Club will resume their battle with the evil Pennywise.
The sequel will arrive in theaters on September 6, 2019.
