David Gordon Green On When You’ll See the First ‘Halloween’ Trailer Online

The big news yesterday was that the first footage from David Gordon Green’s Halloween was shown off at CinemaCon, garnering rave reactions from pretty much everyone in attendance. Based on footage descriptions, we now know more about the plot and approach for the film, which is awesome. But when can the rest of us actually see it?!

On Twitter, original Halloween star Nick Castle, who plays Michael Myers for at least a couple moments in this year’s sequel, answered the pressing question of the week.

Castle tweeted, “Your most asked question from the Twittersphere was, “When do we see a trailer?” Was in touch with David Gordon Green today. He says, “I don’t think it will be for a month or two.” That’s from horses mouth. Stay tuned.”

*UPDATE*:

If you’re looking for a detailed description of the CinemaCon footage, while you wait, Eric Vespe wrote up a pretty comprehensive rundown for Rooster Teeth. Here’s a snippet:

“Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode is no damsel in distress here. In fact I don’t think there was one shot of her being afraid. Quite the opposite. She’s not only prepared for this moment (having rigged her house with various safe rooms, weapons and hidden compartments), she’s been hoping for it. At one point she even says that she prays he gets out someday so she can kill him. From the footage I can say that when he does get out (looks like a bus crash lets loose a lot of the inmates) Laurie is hunting him just as much as he’s hunting his victims.”

Michael returns to Haddonfield on October 19, 2018.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has three awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
