Twentieth Century Fox’s presentation at CinemaCon is taking place today, and director Shane Black has promised the first footage from The Predator, which he co-wrote with Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad). We don’t expect that footage to hit online until a later date, unfortunately, but we have been provided with something for ya today.
Only tiny bits of plot detail have been revealed since the project was announced, along with rumors of a suburban setting that had initially been shot down by Black. As it turns out, much of the film is indeed set in suburbia, as we had reported months back!
Here’s the full, and 100% official, synopsis from Fox…
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Edward James Olmos, Alfie Allen and Yvonne Strahovski star. Jake Busey is playing the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character.
The Predator returns on September 14, 2018.
