Brian De Palma Reveals That He’s Writing a Topical New Horror Film…

Best Horror Films

Brian De Palma has certainly made his mark on the horror genre over the years, bringing Stephen King’s Carrie to the big screen in 1976 and also writing/directing Sisters, Phantom of the Paradise, Obsession, Dressed to Kill, Blow Out, Body Double and Raising Cain. What’s next from De Palma? He’s writing a new horror film.

Indiewire reports that Brian De Palma is returning to horror with a new script inspired by, of all people, Harvey Weinstein. The site notes, “Weinstein will not be a named character in the film, but he will inspire the movie’s narrative.

I’m writing a film about this scandal, a project I’m talking about with a French producer,” De Palma revealed this week. “My character won’t be named Harvey Weinstein but it will be a horror film, with a sexual aggressor, and it will take place in the film industry.”

Thoughts? Too soon? Too real?
