Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in Sony’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller.
For this latest chapter in the series, Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez has hit the reboot button, casting Claire Foy as our new Salander.
Ahead of the November release, the trailer has arrived, and it suggests two things: Foy was damn good casting for this, and Alvarez was an inspired choice for director.
In the film, an adaptation of David Lagercrantz’s novel…
“Young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.”
The Girl in the Spider’s Web arrives in theaters on November 9.
The cast also includes Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks, Stephen Merchant, Claes Bang, Christopher Convery, Synnøve Macody Lund and Vicky Krieps.
