Does this mean… Lights Out is set in the DC Universe?!
With Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation under his belt, you could say that David F. Sandberg is a future master of horror to keep an eye on, but up next he’s heading into the DC universe for superhero film Shazam!. Next year’s film will be quite a departure for Sandberg, but it looks like he’s loading it up with fun horror homages.
Over on Twitter last night, Sandberg promised Annabelle Easter eggs in Shazam!, and he also teased that a character from Lights Out will actually appear in Shazam!.
“You could argue they take place in the same universe,” he notes.
Presumably, the character from Lights Out that’ll appear in Shazam! will be Lotta Losten’s Esther; Losten is Sandberg’s wife, and she’s listed on Shazam!‘s IMDb page.
On an Easter egg level, yes. Also a character from Lights Out is in Shazam so you could argue they take place in the same universe. https://t.co/oH1tCNESqe
