‘Don’t Leave Home’ Poster Teases an Irish Urban Legend [Exclusive]

SXSW title Don’t Leave Home, a horror film written and directed by Michael Tully (Septien) will be released in theaters and on VOD platforms September 14, 2018, via Cranked Up Films.

Don’t Leave Home is described as “an atmospheric, unpredictable, psycho-religious horror film,” which is about an American artist obsessed with a disturbing Irish urban legend. Obsessed with the origin of the myth, the artist ends up inside the estate of a reclusive painter in Ireland.

“After recently unveiling her new sculptural exhibit on Irish urban legends, artist Melanie Thomas is contacted by Father Alistair Burke, a reclusive Irish priest who, legend has it, once painted the portrait of a young girl who later disappeared on the very day her image vanished from the painting. Now, summoned by Burke and his cohort to the Irish countryside for a special art commission, Melanie eagerly accepts the offer, never stopping to consider that some urban legends might be true.”

The film stars Anna Margaret Hollyman (Sleeping with Other People), Helena Bereen(Hunger), and Lalor Roddy (Grabbers) and is produced by Jeffrey Allard (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Walter S. Hall (Entertainment), George M. Rush (Sorry To Bother You), and Ryan Zacarias (A Ciambra).

Here’s an exclusive look at the art, which reveals that Shudder will also stream the film at a later date.
