Horror Fans Enter Their Own Horror Movie in New ‘Blood Fest’ Trailer; Release Details

If you know the rules, you just might make it.

After premiering at SXSW earlier this year, Owen Egerton’s horror-comedy Blood Fest is opening wide this August, we’ve learned today.

Following a screening at RTX Austin the first weekend in August, Blood Fest will terrify cinema audiences with a special one-night Fathom event in more than 600 movie theaters across the U.S. on Tuesday, August 14. Tickets will be available starting Friday, June 29 at www.FathomEvents.com or participating box offices.

Longtime distribution partner Cinedigm will then release the Pioneering Media and Rooster Teeth film in theaters and on digital, cable and satellite platforms on August 31st. The film will also be made available on Blu-ray+DVD combo pack from Cinedigm starting October 2nd.

In Blood Fest

“As attendees start dying off, three teenagers with more horror-film wits than real-world knowledge must band together and battle through every madman, monstrosity and terrifying scenario if they have any hope of surviving.”

Starring Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time, Hannibal Rising), Seychelle Gabriel (The Spirit, Falling Skies, Weeds), Jacob Batalon (Avengers: Infinity War, Spiderman: Homecoming), and Rooster Teeth’s own Barbara Dunkelman (RWBY) with Tate Donovan (Manchester by the Sea, Argo) and featuring a to-die-for cameo by Zachary Levi (Thor: Ragnarok, TV’s Chuck), the film is written and directed by Owen Egerton (Follow, author of the novel The Book of Harold, the Illegitimate Son of God).
