Eli Roth goes from gruesome torture to full-on Amblin with this year’s The House With a Clock in Its Walls, a family friendly horror film that, wouldn’t ya know it, comes courtesy of Amblin! The second trailer was unveiled today, along with a new piece of poster art.
This trailer digs deeper into the story than the previous one, promising a movie filled with magic, monsters, scary pumpkins and creepy dolls. Starring Jack Black, the film has a strong Goosebumps feel to it, which is damn sure not a bad thing. In fact, if I didn’t know any better, I’d probably think this was actually the trailer for Goosebumps 2.

Universal Pictures will release the film on September 21, 2018.
In the film…
“The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.”
Also starring are Kyle MacLachlan, Colleen Camp, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Vanessa Anne Williams, and Sunny Suljic.
Based on the beloved children’s classic written by John Bellairs and illustrated by Edward Gorey, The House with a Clock in Its Walls is written by Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”).
