Upcoming Documentary Will Extensively Explore the ‘Night of the Demons’ Franchise
Just last week, Scream Factory announced an upcoming Night of the Demons Steelbook Blu-ray release, which will include a new 4K transfer and a NECA action figure of Angela. Well, the good news for the franchise continues this week, as a doc is on the way!
From writer Chris MacGibbon will soon come the now-in-the-works The Party’s Just Begun: The Legacy of Night of the Demons, a fan documentary from Dead Mouse Productions LTD, Cult Screenings UK LTD and Michael Perez Productions that’ll bring you back to Hull House with exclusive cast interviews, behind the scenes material and more.
“The cult classic NIGHT OF THE DEMONS premiered in 1988 spawning 2 sequels as well as a remake in 2009 – this documentary covers each film extensively with interviews from the cast and crew. Also featuring exclusive behind the scenes footage and photos, this is one party you don’t want to be caught dead missing!”
We expect more details soon, ahead of a planned 2019 release.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
