Last week, we shared with you the first trailer for Clive Tonge’s Mara, wherein Javier Botet (Mama, [REC], Insidious: The Last Key, IT) plays the title character alongside Mitch Eakins (Glory Road, Evil Bong) and Olga Kurylenko (The Death of Stalin, Oblivion, Vampire Academy, Quantum Solice, Hitman). Now, Bloody Disgusting has the first stills and exclusive poster debut that says, if you see her, you’re already dead. It also promises that Mara will spook our lead as she takes a bath, harking back to A Nightmare On Elm Street.
From a producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes this “shock-filled descent into fear”: “After a man is seemingly strangled in his bed, criminal psychologist Kate Fuller (Kurylenko) interviews the sole witness, the victim’s eight-year-old daughter, Sophie. When asked to identify the killer, Sophie says, “Mara.” As Kate digs into the case, she unearths a community of people who claim to be tormented by a shadowy menace, a centuries-old demon who kills her victims as they sleep.”
Mara will be in theaters and available on Digital HD and VOD September 7, 2018.
