‘The Predator’ Going Back Behind Cameras…Again
It’s easy to panic, but there’s no reason to do so in learning that Shane Black is going back behind cameras to shoot additional photography for The Predator, which came out of the San Diego Comic-Con with strong hype.
Production Weekly lists two days of additional filming in Vancouver, which sounds like some quick pick-ups to maybe bridge scenes in the newly shot third act. Following the first test screenings, Black reworked the finale, which would lead to another series of secret screenings. They must have learned something important in doing so and are heading to Canada to make potentially make a few tweaks. You can read all about the first round of changes here, but beware of spoilers.
In the sequel, “From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
In theaters September 14, 2018, the film stars Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Edward James Olmos, Alfie Allen and Yvonne Strahovski. Jake Busey plays the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character.
