Full Moon Will Finally Be Completing and Releasing Unfinished Film ‘The Primevals’ Next Year

The story of the Charles Band-produced sci-fi/fantasy film The Primevals dates all the way back to 1978, when director David Allen began production on a project he had spent many years trying to get off the ground. Long story short, financing fell through and the film was never made in ’78, but production picked back up many, many years later, in 1994.

So what happened from there? According to the Lost Media Archive, “Principal filming of the live action scenes were completed in Romania with a new cast, and Allen continued to work on the post production and stop motion effects until his untimely death in 1999.”

Ever since Allen’s death nearly 20 years ago, The Primevals has remained unfinished, but Coming Soon reports today that Full Moon Features is at work completing the infamous film, with a planned release sometime in 2019… 40 years after production began!

The site reports, “Full Moon founder Charles Band has assembled a team led by Allen’s protégé Chris Endecott (Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool) to finish FX and sound.”

In the meantime, check out some vintage early footage from the film below.
