The evolution of the superhero movie has been really fascinating to watch, with recent films like Deadpool and Logan helping to redefine what a superhero movie can be. After all, not every superhero movie needs to center on a brave hero trying to save the Earth from a dastardly villain. And Legendary just landed one that sounds way outside the box.
As reported by Collider, Legendary Pictures has nabbed an untitled superhero-heist project from Chris Baugh and Brendan Mullin (Bad Day for the Cut) that’s said to “subvert the genre as it revolves around a group of career criminals who stage a heist on the lair of a superhero, and then must escape with their lives when everything goes wrong.”
Sounds a bit like Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe, doesn’t it?!
The plan is for Baugh to direct the film. More as we learn it.
