Alex Essoe, Who Was Just Cast in ‘Doctor Sleep’, Also Starring in ‘Death of Me’ [Exclusive]



After just landing the lead role of Wendy Torrance in the hotly anticipated The Shining sequel Doctor SleepAlex Essoe (Starry Eyes, Midnighters) is set to star in the Darren Lynn Bousman‘s psychological thriller Death of Me, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report.

She will star opposite Maggie Q and Luke Hemsworth in the film, which began filming in Krabi, Thailand on August 1st.

Described as The Wicker Man meets The Game:

“The film is set on an exotic island, where a couple on holiday wake up with no recollection of what transpired the night before. They find a video that shows them as willing participants in a ritual that inexplicably ends with him murdering her…”

Essoe plays the owner of the Airbnb who aids in the couple’s search for the truth as they find it more and more difficult to escape paradise, we’re told.

Death of Me was written by Ari Margolis & James Morley III and David Tish. Producers are Lee Nelson and David Tish of EMA and Charles Dorfman of Samuel Marshall Productions.

The film is financed by Media Finance Capital, Samuel Marshall Productions and Envision Media Arts (EMA). 13 Films is handling international rights.

Executive producers are David Buelow for EMA, David Gilbery for Media Finance Capital, Michael Klein and Christopher D’Elia of Dobre Films and Tannaz Anisi and Greg Schenz for 13 Films.
