Time to repent.
Whenever a big Hollywood movie hits theaters, you can almost always count on a cheap “mockbuster” hitting home video in an attempt to ride its coattails. The intent is for the DVD of one of these similarly-titled mockbusters to hit stores like Walmart at the same time the Hollywood film hits theaters, confusing shoppers into thinking they’re one and the same.
It’s a dirty tactic, but it clearly works because there’s no end in sight for these things.
On that note, we’ve just learned that a film titled The Bad Nun was released this week, an obvious attempt to cash in on this weekend’s release of the Corin Hardy-directed The Nun.
In The Bad Nun…
“A young woman goes to an isolated former convent turned bed-and-breakfast for some much needed relaxation, where she is visited by a nun at the door who progressively reveals her true colors as the night unfolds.”
