Filming on ‘Zombieland 2’ Will Begin January 2019, With Sequel Arriving in October 2019

Zombieland

Woody Harrelson stars in Columbia Pictures' ZOMBIELAND.

Just in time for the 10th anniversary of Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland, the original cast reunites for Zombieland 2, arriving in theaters on October 11, 2019. Fleischer (Venom) is getting back in the director’s chair for the sequel, which begins filming in early 2019.

I’m thrilled. We’re already actually starting Zombieland,” Fleischer just told Fandango. “I’ve been scouting and storyboarding and getting it going, and to get to work with that cast again is just an absolute dream come true. It’s been really exciting starting to think about that movie, and to get to work with Emma, Jesse, Woody and Abigail once again is truly a dream come true.”

He added, “Yeah, we’re just at the very early stages, but we have an amazing script, and we’re going to start shooting in Georgia in January.”

Fleischer also teased, “It’s been 10 years, so who knows what the world will look like at this point?

In Zombieland 2“through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin are all coming back. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also returned to write the script.
