Production has begun on the next installment in the Rambo franchise, which may very well be the last. We’ve learned today that the fifth installment in the series has been officially titled Rambo: Last Blood, a nod to the original film’s title, which was of course First Blood.
Additionally, THR reports that Paz Vega has joined Sylvester Stallone in the film.
“In the fifth episode of franchise, when the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S.-Mexican border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.”
The site details, Paz Vega will play Carmen Delgado, a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped.
Adrian Grunberg is directing from a script by Matt Cirulnick and Stallone.
