Jason Edmiston’s New ‘Halloween’ (1978) Poster for Mondo is a Perfect Companion to His Previous Poster

Being sold at this weekend’s Halloween: 40 Years of Terror event in Pasadena, California, Mondo has teamed with artist Jason Edmiston for a beautiful new poster that pays tribute to the original Halloween, and fans of Edmiston’s breathtaking work will instantly recognize that it’s actually a pitch perfect companion piece to his Halloween poster from 2015.

Edmiston explains, “In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the landmark horror movie, I’m excited to reveal my new officially licensed poster for HALLOWEEN! This is a spiritual successor to my screen print that I created for Mondo back in 2015. In the previous poster, Michael Myers was seen from the perspective of a vulnerable, terrified Laurie Strode about to be attacked. This new poster turns the tables and the point of view, after Laurie stabs The Shape in the eye with a coat hanger, grabs his dropped knife, and prepares to defend herself.”

He adds, “This screen print will debut this weekend, at Halloween: 40 Years of Terror, in Pasadena, CA, October 12-14, 2018. Copies will be available at the Pasadena Convention Center, on Saturday the 13th, and Sunday the 14th, only at my booth. For show hours and details, go to: http://www.halloween40.com/

Only 325 of the 24″ x 36″ Screen Prints have been made, selling for $50 each.

Sleepy Hollow movie

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
