MoviePass and ‘The Descent’ Director Neil Marshall Partnering for Horror Film ‘The Reckoning’

Despite the ticketing service making headlines for all the wrong reasons this year, MoviePass Films is still pressing forward and pumping more money into the film space, with Deadline reporting today that the company has just greenlit horror film The Reckoning, to be helmed by Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Hellboy director Neil Marshall.

Production is expected to begin this coming January on the female-driven film.

“The Reckoning is set around the witch hunts and the great plague in England in 1665 and follows Evelyn Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk), a young widow, haunted by the recent suicide of her husband Joseph, who is falsely accused of being a witch by her jealous Landlord, Squire Pendleton, after she rejects his unwanted advances.”

Marshall co-wrote alongside Edward Evers-Swindell and Charlotte Kirk.
