More casting news for Legendary’s epic fight flick Godzilla vs. Kong today, as Deadline reports that Japanese star Shun Oguri will make his Hollywood debut in the 2020 film.
Oguri starred in Takashi Miike’s Crows Zero, as well as last year’s Gintama.
Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Rebecca Hall (The BFG), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), Alexander Skarsgård (“True Blood”), Jessica Henwick (“Iron Fist”) and Demian Bichir (The Nun) also star.
Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way to Die, V/H/S, The Guest, You’re Next, Death Note) directs.
The film will be the fourth in the cinematic universe featuring the two monsters. The first installment of Legendary’s Monsterverse was 2014’s Godzilla, followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, which grossed more than $565 million worldwide. A sequel to Godzilla, titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, with Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, and Brown, is coming soon.
Godzilla and Kong will clash on the big screen on May 22, 2020.
