Kailey Marsh, founder of the now-famous “BloodList” and co-executive producer on Hulu’s “Light as a Feather”, has been hired by Brillstein Entertainment who also acquired ownership of the “BloodList” brand that Marsh created and continues to run.

“Brillstein is a phenomenal home for my clients and me,” said Marsh. “I’m a long-time horror fan, and the opportunity to build out the ‘BloodList’ brand into a production entity alongside a storied company like Brillstein is a dream.”

Before joining Brillstein, Marsh ran her own company, Kailey Marsh Media, for five years. Marsh represents screenwriters and directors whose work spans all genres in the feature, television and new media spaces.

Marsh is also the creator of the annual “BloodList”, a list of the most-liked horror and dark genre screenplays and pilots of the year, which she has run since its creation in 2009. BloodList.com boasts fans from all over the world and, of the scripts that have appeared on the “BloodList”, 23% have been produced, including Arrival, The Shallows, The Black Coat’s Daughter, The Voices, and Before I Wake.

After the continued success of the “BloodList”, Kailey launched the Fresh Blood Initiative in 2016, a free submission system where unrepresented screenwriters are considered for recognition in the Fresh Blood section of the annual “BloodList”.

In association with Brillstein, “BloodList” will expand into a production banner which will have a slate of film and television projects for 2019.

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
