Want Some Good News? John Carpenter is Up for Scoring the Next ‘Halloween’ Sequel!

Published

David Gordon Green’s Halloween provided us with much to be excited about, and perhaps nothing more exciting than the fact that John Carpenter (along with son Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies) scored the film. Carpenter hadn’t actually scored a film since his own Ghosts of Mars back in 2001, so that was needless to say a pretty big deal.

Jamie Lee Curtis has stated on the record that she’d love to come back for the inevitable sequel, and as it turns out, John Carpenter is 100% on board for that too!

“We’ll be ready. We’ve all talked about it. We’ll be ready,” he tells Consequence of Sound.

As an added bonus, he also confirms that a Lost Themes III remains in the work. “We’ve been putting together some music,” he says, but insists his band, which comprises of son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, is currently taking a much-needed break.

“The group is not intensely working on anything,” he clarifies, “but we’ll get back together and do some more stuff. We need to rest now after Halloween and keep out of sight. We don’t need to bug anybody now.”

While it’s unclear if Danny McBride or David Gordon Green will return for a sequel, their Halloween will be hitting DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on January 15.
