One of the most talked about horror films here in the tail end of 2018 is director Demian Rugna’s Terrified, which can be streamed through Shudder. The film is indeed home to a handful of truly terrifying sequences, and it seems Guillermo del Toro is among its fans. This week, del Toro has confirmed last week’s report that he’s on board for a remake!
Del Toro confirmed the news in a chat with THR, and the site also confirms that it will be Rugna himself who will direct the remake of his own film for Fox Searchlight.
The remake of the Argentinian film will be English-language.
In Terrified, “Because of his fascination with the paranormal, a police officer on the brink of retirement is asked to investigate a series of strange deaths happening doors apart from each other. There he meets a famed paranormal investigator who is looking into a disappearance in the area as well. Together, with another paranormal enthusiast, they look into these strange incidents and uncover a terrifying connection.”
