Back in 2015, you may recall, a creep who called himself “The Watcher” forced a family to move out of their house in the wake of increasingly disturbing behavior towards them, and it didn’t take long for big names in Hollywood to compete for the film rights to the unsettling story. Today, Deadline reports, Netflix has secured those rights.
Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity 3) are attached to direct the film.
The site adds, “Netflix will pay seven figures for a rights package that includes an article by Reeves Wiedeman published on New York Magazine’s website The Cut, and the rights of the beleaguered homeowners who’ve lived this nightmare for four years.”
Eric Newman (Narcos) and Bryan Unkeless (I, Tonya) are set to produce.
