‘Leprechaun Returns’ Had Two Other Possible Titles
While the film won’t debut on Syfy until next March, Leprechaun Returns (review) is now on VOD platforms everywhere. The Steven Kostanski-directed (The Void) film serves as a sequel to the original Leprechaun, only this time Linden Porco takes on the title role.
The film’s title is perfection, alluding to the Leprechaun’s return from the well that he fell down in the 1993 horror film starring Warwick Davis and Jennifer Aniston.
But before the filmmakers settled on Leprechaun Returns, Bloody Disgusting learned there were two other titles in contention: the totally awesome Leprechaun Lives! and Leprechaun: Renewable Enemy. Maybe one of them will be used in a future sequel?
In the brand new film, “The deadly, wisecracking Leprechaun is back in all his gory glory. When the sorority sisters of the Alpha Upsilon house decide to go green and use an old well as their water source, they unwittingly awaken a pint-sized, green-clad monster. The Leprechaun wants a pot of gold buried near the sorority house, but first, he must recover his powers with a killing spree—and only the girls of AU can stop him.“
Leprechaun Returns co-stars Mark Holton, reprising the role of Ozzie!

‘They Follow’ – Naomi Ackie Reportedly Joining Maika Monroe in ‘It Follows’ Sequel
Maika Monroe (Longlegs) and director David Robert Mitchell are reuniting for It Follows sequel They Follow, and Deadline brings us some more casting news this week.
Deadline reports that Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice) is in final talks to join They Follow.
Deadline notes, “There’s no word yet on who Ackie will play, nor the plot of the long anticipated sequel, other than it taking place a decade after the events of the original film.”
They Follow is expected to enter production this Summer. Stay tuned for updates.
In the first movie, Maika Monroe’s Jay Height is a young woman followed by an unknown supernatural force after a sexual encounter. In the sequel, the threat is now EVERYWHERE.
“It’s very dark,” Monroe recently teased. “We’re pushing the boundaries on this one for sure.”
“It’s very different from the original,” Monroe told Discussing Film. “The original is a little more heightened and dramatic, and this is really quite grounded and follows the story of these two women that are mentally dealing with a lot. I thought it was really an interesting take on it.”
NEON and Good Fear Content are producing They Follow.
