A24’s ‘The Hole in the Ground’ Hits DIRECTV Next Month!

Published

on

Just last week we told you that A24 will be releasing The Hole in the Ground, a film we’ve been tracking here on Bloody for well over a year, in limited theaters on March 1, 2019. Now, we’re just learning that A24 fans will be able to stream the film in the comfort of their homes shortly after its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next month!

Said to be in the vein of The Babadook, Bloody Disgusting learned that Lee Cronin’s horror film will arrive exclusively on DIRECTV January 31, 2019. The release should is similar to that of Bryan Bertino’s The Monster.

In the film,

“Sarah and her young son Chris move to a new home in the Irish countryside, next to a forest that hides an enormous sinkhole. One night, Chris vanishes, and when he reappears he seems unharmed and unchanged. But, as his behavior grows increasingly disturbing, Sarah begins to fear that the boy who has returned may not be her son at all.

“The Hole in the Ground weaves suspense, terror, and supernatural folklore into a richly evocative story about the primal fears of motherhood.”

Seána Kerslake (A Date For Mad Mary) stars with James Cosmo, Kati Outinen, and James Quinn Markey.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
