Empire previews John Wick: Chapter 3 with the first look at Anjelica Huston as The Director, a member of the High Table of The Continental.
EW previously described Huston’s character as “someone who was responsible for [Wick’s] upbringing and his protection.” The movie is “a little bit of an origin story,” according to co-director Chad Stahelski.
Also joined this time around by newcomer Halle Berry, franchise star Keanu Reeves‘ third Wick allegedly will have the highest body count of the three films.
In the film…
“John Wick (Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”
Chad Stahelski’s John Wick: Chapter 3 brings back two of the franchise’s other key players, Winston (Ian McShane) and Charon (Laurence Fishburne).
Lance Reddick also returns with the full cast including Anjelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, Tiger Hu Chen, Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman.
Wick returns on May 17, 2019.
