James McAvoy may be terrifying us all this weekend as “The Beast” in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, but he’ll be the one getting terrorized later this year in IT: Chapter Two. On “Good Morning America” today, McAvoy touched briefly upon his experience on the set last year, admitting that Bill Skarsgård legit freaked him out when in character.

He’s amazing. [Skarsgård] is terrifying,” McAvoy told the show’s host. “He’s a lovely guy, and yet he really freaked me out. I remember standing there with the rest of the cast, all these adults, and we’d all done weird, freaky stuff. And we are all looking at each other going, ‘I don’t like being here. I don’t like being an actor today.’

McAvoy added, “He really did, he really freaked me out. I never liked clowns as a kid.”

Pennywise returns on September 6, 2019.

Andy Muschietti again directed the sequel, which features the adult version of Losers’ Club members who survived the malevolent Pennywise as kids in the 1980s.

The cast also includes Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Mama”) as Beverly, Bill Hader (HBO’s “Barry,” “The Skeleton Twins”) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (TV’s “Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments”) as Mike, Jay Ryan (TV’s “Mary Kills People”) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (Starz’ “Power”) as Stanley.

Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.
