Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at the poster art for Mon Ami director Rob Grant‘s Harpoon, which will make its World Premiere at the 48th International Film Festival Rotterdam, which takes place the 23 Jan – 3 Feb 2019 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Shot in Calgary, Alberta and San Pedro, Belize, and written by Grant, Harpoon is said to be “a brutal and absurd genre film” that brings a new twist to the lost at sea genre. The poster, which depicts the film’s three leads stranged in the ocean, was designed by Christopher Shy (Mandy).
“With his perfect family and perfect upbringing, Richard (“The Mist’s” Christopher Gray) appears to have it all. So when he thinks that his long-term girlfriend, Sasha (“Code Black’s” Emily Tyra), and best-friend, Jonah (Turbo Kid‘s Munro Chambers), are having an affair, it sends him into a fit of rage that leaves Jonah a bloody mess. Once Jonah and Sasha convince Richard the allegations are false, Richard tries to buy back their trust by taking them out for a day-trip on his family’s yacht. Tension boils over once out to sea, and, to make matters worse, the yacht’s engine fails. Stranded without food and supplies, the trio must set aside their differences in order to survive. ”
It was also announced today that comedian Brett Gelman will be boarding film.
Producers include Michael Peterson (Alive), Kurtis David Harder (What Keeps You Alive) and Julian Black Antelope (Knuckleball). Yellow Veil Pictures is handling world sales on the film.
