‘The Strangers’ Director Awaits Death with ‘The Dark and the Wicked’

The Strangers director Bryan Bertino, who last directed Mockingbird and The Monster, is looking to get back behind the camera this spring on The Dark and the Wicked, Bloody Disgusting learned via Production Weekly.

Bertino also penned the screenplay in which two siblings are summoned back to the family farm, in the middle of nowhere, to await the inevitability of their father’s death. What initially appears to be a timeless ritual of loss and remembrance turns out to be something very different.

Filming could take place in Texas as early as this February with Adrienne Biddle, Sonny Mallhi, and Kevin Matusow producing.

Watch for casting news and official confirmation as it arrives.
