Poster Art for Pollyanna McIntosh’s ‘Darlin’ Gives Us Our First Taste of the Sequel to ‘The Woman’
Back in 2011, Bloody Disgusting was proud to present director Lucky McKee’s The Woman, a sequel to 2009’s Offspring that starred Pollyanna McIntosh in the title role. This year, McIntosh (“The Walking Dead”) reprises the memorable role for sequel Darlin’, which the actress also wrote and directed!
Ahead of the film screening at SXSW, EW got their hands on the poster art, which you can check out below. It gives us our first look at McIntosh back in the role, all these years later.
The site detail the plot, “Darlin’ picks up 10 years after the events of The Woman, when McIntosh’s titular character escaped with the then-young Darlin’ in tow. Now Darlin’ in is a Catholic home for girls while the Woman resides in an all-female homeless encampment. Naturally, trouble is a-brewin.”
The cast includes Lauryn Canny (1,000 Times Good Night, Amber), Bryan Batt (Mad Men, 12 Years a Slave), Nora-Jane Noone (The Magdalene Sisters, The Descent, Brooklyn) and Cooper Andrews (The Walking Dead, Shazam, Halt and Catch Fire), as well as fellow The Walking Dead alumni Sabrina Gennarino and Thomas Francis Murphy.
Darlin‘ is a Hood River Entertainment production with Andrew van den Houten producing and Lucky McKee and the late Jack Ketchum as executive producers.
