[Image] Twisty Troy is Playing a Body Horror Nightmare in the Soska Sisters-Directed ‘Rabid’
Headed our way sometime this year is a brand new take on David Cronenberg’s Rabid, which was directed by sisters Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary). A new behind the scenes photo shared by Dark Universe today gives us our first look at one of the movie’s body horror nightmares, which is being played by Twisty Troy (“Channel Zero: Dream Door”)!
The Soska Sisters tweeted today…
“Honored to work with the iconic Twisty Troy in a Steve Kostanski designed creature from the MasterFX team. Do you think weird body horror? We got you covered!”
Laura Vandervoort (Jigsaw) stars in the film.
Rose is a demure seamstress who goes through a radical transformation after electing for plastic surgery following a disfiguring accident.
Ben Hollingsworth also stars as “Brad”, a fashion photographer with Hanneke Talbot (“Playing Dead”) portraying Rose’s best friend Chelsea; and Mackenzie Gray (“Legion”, “Riverdale”) is arrogant fashion designer “Gunter”. Rabid will also feature WWE superstars CM Punk as “Billy” and his wife, New York Times best-selling author AJ Mendez as “Kira”.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo Joins the Cast of New ‘Jurassic World’ Movie
The next installment in the Jurassic World franchise continues to build its main cast, with Deadline reporting that Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer) has signed on.
He’ll join the previously announced Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jonathan Bailey (Wicked) in the franchise’s next installment, arriving in Summer 2025.
Gareth Edwards (2014’s Godzilla, The Creator) will be directing the new installment, with original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp returning to write the screenplay.
Jurassic World returns to theaters on July 2, 2025. Stay tuned for more.
The new movie is expected to usher in a brand new Jurassic Era with Jurassic World cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard not expected to return. Don’t expect the original trilogy’s Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill, either. The new Jurassic World, from what we gather, plans to take the franchise in a new direction, with plot details under wraps.
The next Jurassic World film will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick will also produce through 87North.
Executive Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the Studio.
This news comes in the wake of Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World: Dominion, a trilogy of sequels to the original classic that concluded in 2022. The last entry, Jurassic World: Dominion, brought in a billion dollars at the global box-office, all but ensuring Universal would want to continue this franchise.
The franchise will also return with “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” later this year, an animated series from Netflix set in the world of “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.”
