Jason Blum Hammers the Final Nail in the Coffin of the ‘Sinister’ Film Franchise

Sinister 2

It’s now been four years since the release of Sinister 2 and we haven’t heard a peep about a third installment, so you’ve probably been wondering what (if anything) is going on in the world of Bughuul and his nightmarish home movies. Well, after Sinister 2 pulled in $25m less (worldwide) than the first Sinister, we may not see Bughuul on the big screen again.

During a Twitter Q&A session earlier this week, Jason Blum replied with a simple and entirely definitive “Nope” when asked if Sinister 3 was even a possibility. So that’s that.

Later on, however, Blum did add that he’s at least been *thinking* of potentially bringing Bughuul back in some sort of small screen project. “Maybe,” he made sure to note.

Sinister 2 made $52.8 million on a $10 million production budget. Maybe not enough to warrant a third film, but it would seem there’s still money to be made from the franchise.
