Finn Wolfhard Had No Idea He Was Auditioning for ‘Ghostbusters’
Excuse me while I chuckle for a second… the filmmakers behind the new Ghostbusters auditioned Finn Wolfhard? Like, they physically made him drive into the studio lot and read some lines in front of a camera like an asshole? He’s fuckin’ Finn Wolfhard, the scene-stealing star of both “Stranger Things” and “It: Chapter One” that should be instantly castable if he’s interested in your movie. And Ghostbusters? He was born for the role, yet he was put through the wringer and didn’t even know what he was auditioning for. That’s funny.
Wolfhard tells MTV at the ongoing CinemaCon:
“It’s all secret. It’s like completely, ya know — I didn’t even know what I was auditioning for when I auditioned for it.”

Mckenna Grace, last seen playing a young Carol Danvers in Marvel Studio’s Captain Marvel, has booked the lead role in Sony’s sequel, it was reported last week. She joins Wolfhard and Carrie Coon (Widows).
In the canonized sequel to the original Ghostbusters films…
“A family moves back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are.”
The story centers on a single mom and her children. Grace will play the daughter, while Coon is in talks to play the mom, and Wolfhard is in talks to play her son.
Sony has slated Jason Reitman’s sequel to be released on July 20, 2020.

‘Werwulf’ – Chilly First Look at New Werewolf Nightmare from Director Robert Eggers
Robert Eggers (The Witch, Nosferatu) is back later this year with new horror movie Werwulf, and the very first teaser image from the hotly anticipated movie has surfaced tonight.
Oddly enough, this first look comes courtesy of the NBC Store, and it gives us a glimpse at a chilly Winter landscape from the film. Is there a werewolf hiding in the photo? Maybe…
Set in 13th century England, Werwulf sees a mysterious creature stalk the land as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality. The film hits theaters on December 25 via Focus Features.
Robert Eggers recently teased, “It’s the darkest thing I’ve ever written. By far.”
Eggers directs from a script he penned with his The Northman co-writer Sjón.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nosferatu), Lily-Rose Depp (Nosferatu), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) star.
Robert Eggers and Sjón produce alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title. Maiden Voyage’s Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus are executive producing.
