MGM and Orion have been making some killer choices as we near the release of Child’s Play, first casting Mark Hamill as the voice of the new Chucky and now announcing today that top composer Bear McCreary (“The Walking Dead”) is composing the score for director Lars Klevberg’s remake! You can check out a sneak peek of McCreary’s score below.
McCreary has composed countless horror scores in recent years, including 10 Cloverfield Lane, Happy Death Day, Hell Fest and the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
In Klevberg’s modern take on the horror classic, a mother (Aubrey Plaza) gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Brian Tyree Henry.
Klevberg directed from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury) screenplay.
Child’s Play slashes its way to theaters on June 21, 2019.
