Full Moon Teases the Return of Radu in… ‘Subspecies 5’?!
We first met the rat-fanged vampire known as Radu in Full Moon‘s 1991 film Subspecies, which ended up launching a franchise that continued into the late ’90s. The final film in the franchise was Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm in 1998, which means it’s now been over 20 years since we last caught up with Radu. But hang tight, because it looks like he’s on his way back.
Over on the Full Moon Features website today, the company noted that more information about their Deadly Ten initiative (a banner under which 10 brand new Full Moon movies will be produced) is coming soon, while also teasing the forthcoming return of Radu!
Here’s the full statement, direct from Full Moon:
“This week, we’re going to reveal everything you need to know about the DEADLY TEN in a news release that will be going wide. But until then, we’ll give you a little hint. One word: SUBSPECIES.
We know that many of you Full Moon freaks are crazy about our 4-movie strong SUBSPECIES series, the franchise of high-concept fright films that follow the evil legacy of the rat-fanged vampire Radu and his reign of undead terror. It’s been over 20 years since we released SUBSPECIES 4: BLOODSTORM and admirers of the movies have been clamoring for more ever since.
And while we CAN’T tell you everything just yet, if you ARE a SUBSPECIES fan, well…let’s just say that you should be REALLY excited about the DEADLY TEN.
It’s about damn time we saw our old pal Radu again…don’t you think?
Yes. So do we.”

The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence will be released in select cities across the US beginning August 7th in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and others, and expanding to further locations throughout the month.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes co-creators Costa Dillon and J. Stephen Peace return to write and executive produce. David Ferino directs.
The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
