The marketing for Child’s Play 2 back in 1990 included a Thanksgiving-themed ad, and it looks like Lars Klevberg’s Child’s Play remake for MGM and Orion has been taking tips. Yesterday, Chucky celebrated 4/20, and today he’s getting into the Easter spirit like only he can.
Then again, the Critters killed the Easter bunny first, eh?
In Klevberg’s modern take on the horror classic, a mother (Aubrey Plaza) gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Mark Hamill is the new voice of Chucky.
The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Brian Tyree Henry.
Klevberg directed from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury) screenplay.
Child’s Play slashes its way to theaters on June 21, 2019.
