Under the Shadows director Babak Anvari returned to the Sundance Film Festival with Wounds, which begins when disturbing and mysterious things begin to happen to a bartender in New Orleans after he picks up a phone left behind at his bar.
Babak Anvari’s mystery-drama starring Armie Hammer, Dakota Johnson (Suspiria) and Zazie Beetz will screen in the Directors’ Fortnight, which runs parallel to the Cannes Film Festival, reports Deadline.
The site also notes that Netflix picked up international rights, including France, while Annapurna’s United Artists Releasing has U.S. rights.
Bloody’s Rafael Motamayor attended the World Premiere and wrote that “Wounds is the nastiest and grossest horror film of the year (so far).”
