An article about Child’s Play over on Los Angeles Times today shares a new image from Lars Klevberg‘s remake for MGM and Orion, with Andy unwrapping a whole new nightmare.
“It seems like we’re always reading about Alexa spying on people, or smart homes being hacked, and it feels inevitable that in the next five years some big tech company, whether it’s Apple or Google, Amazon, Boston Dynamics — is going to create a smart, connected child companion toy,” producer Seth Grahame-Smith told the site, speaking about the new plot.

In Klevberg’s modern take on the horror classic, a mother (Aubrey Plaza) gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Mark Hamill is the new voice of Chucky.
The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Brian Tyree Henry.
Klevberg directed from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury) screenplay.
Child’s Play slashes its way to theaters on June 21, 2019.
