We’ve hit peak hype for director Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters with EW premiering yet another breathtaking shot of the enormous hero looking down at a submarine like it’s a Micromachine. In what will be a pinnacle moment in film’s story arc, the below photo shows a submarine making contact with Godzilla:
“The whole story ponders whether or not humans and Godzilla could potentially coexist together, or even possibly form an alliance,” Dougherty explained to the site. “This particular moment answers that question.”
The sequel takes place five years after the events in the first film…
“When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
