Currently celebrating the release of his rom-com Long Shot, THR reports that director Jonathan Levine has signed a first-look deal with Lionsgate for both film and TV.
One project will be a small screen adaptation of Warm Bodies, his 2013 zombedy that starred Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer.
In the film, after a highly unusual zombie (Hoult) saves a still-living girl (Palmer) from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion events that might transform the entire lifeless world.
Levine will run Megamix with former Lionsgate exec Gillian Bohrer, who worked with the helmer on Warm Bodies as well as other studio projects including the Twilight series, La La Land and Wonder.
She tells the site: “Jonathan and I have a shared passion for movies that defy conventional wisdom about what defines a ‘commercial movie.’ I loved the diverse slate of projects I was able to shepherd at Lionsgate, and we’re delighted to bring Megamix to a company that believes in taking risks.”
