Following its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Netflix acquired I Am Mother, the Australian sci-fi thriller from first time director Grant Sputore. Meredith Borders reviewed the film for Bloody Disgusting, explaining that it “brings the suspense to smart sci-fi.”
The film stars Acadamy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank as a stranger who is taken into a bunker where they have doubts about one of the hosts and their claims about the outside world. Insidious‘ Rose Byrne lends her voice to the evil robot and Clara Rugaard plays the young girl.
Arriving on Netflix June 7, 2019, we just got our hands on the official poster art and trailer for the film and it looks bonkers. While it’s got a similar dilemma to 10 Cloverfield Lane, this looks thrilling as all hell and like it could be one of Netflix’s better film acquisitions in recent years. What do you think?
