Regular Bloody readers know I am not a fan of Sharknado – and Glenn Danzig’s Verotika is the perfect example as to why. Manufacturing a bad movie on purpose isn’t funny, at least to this writer. To each their own, and for those who enjoy Syfy’s brand of comedy, there’s going to be Zombie Tidal Wave, which they hope will be the start of a new “franchise”.
TheWrap reports that Sharknado star Ian Ziering is returning to Syfy to produce and star in Zombie Tidal Wave, which will also feature the return of Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante.
The purposely “so-bad-it’s-good” movie stars Ziering as Hunter Shaw a “rogue, veteran sailor” who “contends with the ocean-borne outbreak which threatens his seaside island community.”
The film will air as part of Syfy’s “Off the Deep End” weekend on Aug. 17 and 18, which also includes all six Sharknado films and a slew of other shark-themed movies like Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda and Dam Sharks.
