Director David M. Rosenthal‘s remake of Jacob’s Ladder is finally being released by Vertical Entertainment this summer, with the new take on the 1990 classic debuting on DISH.
DISH will premiere Jacob’s Ladder in an exclusive window on Dish July 25, followed by a theatrical release on August 23. Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive first look at the theatrical artwork.
The plot is quite a bit different than the original film’s, but it looks like the new movie will be home to similar nightmare imagery. In Rosenthal’s Jacob’s Ladder, “After losing his brother in combat, Jacob Singer returns home from Afghanistan — only to be pulled into a mind-twisting state of paranoia. Singer soon realizes that his sibling is alive but life is not what it seems.”
Writer Jeff Buhler (The Prodigy, Pet Sematary) has promised a fresh new twist. Sarah Thorpe co-wrote the script with Buhler.
Michael Ealy (The Intruder), Jesse Williams (The Cabin in the Woods), Nicole Beharie (Shame, 42), and Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder) star.
