David Twohy‘s 2000 film Pitch Black was our introduction to Vin Diesel as an action star, and the actor of course went on reprise the role of monster-killer Richard B. Riddick in 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick and most recently, 2013’s Riddick. Talks of a fourth film began way back in 2014, with Universal reportedly interested in making another film at that time.
So what’s the latest on Riddick 4? Well, over on Instagram yesterday, Vin Diesel revealed that he has received the script from Twohy! The film, at this time, is titled Riddick 4: Furya.
“That’s the birthday present I got that I think you would all appreciate,” Diesel noted, while showing off the script. “The Riddick 4 script. This is exciting.”
The script’s cover page features a quote that could give us some insight into the film: “Everyone wants to be a beast until it’s time to do what real beasts do.”
