The Rambo franchise has only gotten bloodier and more over-the-top violent as the years have gone on, with 2008’s Rambo spilling so much blood that it practically plays out like a slasher film. The good news? This year’s Rambo: Last Blood looks to be just as wild!
Sylvester Stallone confirmed over on Instagram that the MPAA has handed Last Blood a “hard R” rating. “What’s coming is going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” he noted.
Stallone also shared two bloody new photos, found below.
In the fifth installment of the franchise, when the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S.-Mexican border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
Sergio Peris-Mencheta (“Snowfall”) will be playing Rambo’s latest adversary. The actor will play the cartel’s brutal leader, Hugo Martinez.
Yvette Monreal, Adriana Barraza, Paz Vega, Oscar Jaenada and Joaquin Cosio also star.
